Estate — Outside‑to‑Outside Mounting

Ideal for: robust terminations where hardware seats on the exterior post faces.

How it works

• Outside‑to‑outside fittings mount to the outer faces of terminal posts.

• Excellent for stair and angle runs where access to the hardware is helpful.

Best for

• Stairs and angle runs. Use in combination with Legacy Series for straight runs.

• Projects favoring a bold, architectural accent at the posts

Plan Your Infill Packs

WiseRail® CableRail® hardware packs are configured for 1/8" cable. Choose the number of infill packs based on your desired rail height:

• 36" railing height: 10 infill packs

• 39" railing height: 11 infill packs

• 42" railing height: 12 infill packs

Post, Layout & Spacing Essentials

• Posts: Minimum 4x4 (3‑1/2" actual) wood posts for terminals; ensure all terminating posts are securely mounted to the structure.

• Top rail: Required; consider vertical reinforcement beneath the top rail for added rigidity.

• Hole layout: Mark the first hole 3‑1/8" down from the bottom of the top rail, then continue every 3‑1/8" on center.

• Centerline: On 3‑1/2" posts, center holes at 1‑3/4".

• Cable spacing: Drill at 3‑1/8" on center to maintain ≤ 3" clear between cables (accounts for 1/8" cable diameter).

• Support spacing: Add intermediate supports (posts or cable braces) so lateral support spacing is ≤ 48".

Code reminder: Most jurisdictions require the 4" sphere rule—no opening (between cables, top rail to top cable, or bottom cable to deck) may allow a 4" sphere to pass.

Installation Tips

• Treat cable railing as a two‑person project for accuracy and safety.

• Use painter’s tape down the post centerline to reduce blowout and improve marking visibility.

• Pre‑fit tensioners and verify hole‑to‑hole alignment before final tightening.
